Journey through Jo's
"Go easy on me! I'm still a work in progress! If you spot anything that needs urgent fixing, give me a shout. Constructive criticism is welcome… harsh roasts, maybe less so. Cheers!"
My name is Jo. I'm here to promote, foster, encourage and bridge the digital divide in my own little way. Ensuring equitable online experience is what drives my passion for creating inclusive digital experiences.
My journey into accessibility began with my role in IT Operations, where I developed a deep understanding of technology and its potential to empower people.
Before transitioning into my role as an Accessibility Specialist, I built a solid foundation in IT Operations. During this time, I was responsible for managing complex technological infrastructures, troubleshooting critical systems, and ensuring seamless IT support across diverse teams.
The above cultivated my ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, laying the groundwork for my dedication to creating inclusive digital solutions.
I am also proud to have earned the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) credential, which has solidified my expertise in the field of digital accessibility.
Through my work, I am committed to ensuring that digital spaces are accessible to all, fostering equal opportunities and seamless experiences for everyone.
Beyond my professional commitments, I often channel my creativity into writing poems, blogs, and articles on cultures, religions, beliefs, design, user research, and accessibility, making significant contributions to the field both in practice and thought leadership.
